Her Sun Valley Story: The Characters

Characters are an important part of all plays. Let’s face it, without characters, there would be no play! Here is a list of all the characters from Her Sun Valley Story, and a description of each one:

Margy Manning: A photographer. She works for Tomorrow’s Fashions Today magazine. She is a kind and creative person, though her stubborn, feisty streak can often get the best of her.

Bill O’Brien: A newspaperman. Is described in the script as having a “charming, slightly full of himself air about him”.

George Walton: Editor-In-Chief of Tomorrow’s Fashions Today magazine. He’s also Margy’s boyfriend. A complete workaholic, he has trouble focusing on other people’s thoughts and feelings.

Miss Holden: George’s secretary. A complete ditz who never seems to know what’s going on, she’s definitely the Marilyn Monroe type.

Ellen: Margy’s best friend. A good friend with a heart of gold, she always urges Margy to go after what she wants.

Conductor: Works on the Snowball Special train. He knows his job inside out.

Hotel Clerk: Works at the Sun Valley Lodge. He always seems to know the comings and goings of all of the hotel guests.

Bell boy: Works at the Sun Valley Lodge. He’s extremely helpful and loves his job.

Maid: Works at the Sun Valley Lodge. She’s good at her job, but isn’t very good at keeping what she thinks about the guests to herself.

Sleigh driver: Works for the stables at the Sun Valley Lodge. He’s not the most helpful person in the world, and tends to do as little work as possible.

Maitre D: Works at the Ram Restaurant. He’s very formal with the guests.

Waiter: Works at The Ram restaurant. He’s pleasant and quick to the point.

Woman: Guest at The Ram restaurant. She likes to gossip about everyone in Sun Valley.

Man: Guest at the Ram restaurant. He also enjoys to gossip.
